For the pastry:
- 375g plain flour
- 260g unsalted butter
- 125g caster sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp cold water
For the filling:
- 800g mincemeat
- 1 egg, beaten (for glazing)
- Icing sugar for dusting
📝 Instructions
- Rub flour and butter until breadcrumb texture
- Mix in sugar, egg, and water to form dough
- Chill for 30 minutes
- Roll out and cut circles for bases
- Fill with mincemeat
- Add pastry lids, seal edges
- Brush with beaten egg
- Bake at 200°C/400°F for 15-20 minutes
- Cool and dust with icing sugar
