🧂 Ingredients

For the pastry:

  • 375g plain flour
  • 260g unsalted butter
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp cold water

For the filling:

  • 800g mincemeat
  • 1 egg, beaten (for glazing)
  • Icing sugar for dusting

📝 Instructions

  1. Rub flour and butter until breadcrumb texture
  2. Mix in sugar, egg, and water to form dough
  3. Chill for 30 minutes
  4. Roll out and cut circles for bases
  5. Fill with mincemeat
  6. Add pastry lids, seal edges
  7. Brush with beaten egg
  8. Bake at 200°C/400°F for 15-20 minutes
  9. Cool and dust with icing sugar
💡 TIP: Make stars or other festive shapes for the tops instead of full covers!
